Medical Education Department

          Medical Education Department is the Administrative Department of the Government Medical & Dental Colleges situated in the State. This department is also the administrative Department of the Hospitals associated with these colleges. Medical Education Department is very important on the point of providing human resources in the field of Medical & Health. Along with this, the associated hospitals also treat Serious, Complicated and referred patients.

          In Rajasthan at the time of independence, only one medical college in Jaipur was situated, but now there are 6 Government Medical Colleges, 1 Medical of Jhalawar Society in Jhalawar, 1 Medical College of Rajasthan University of Health Sciences in Jaipur is situated. Under Rajasthan Medical Education Society (Raj-MES), Medical Colleges at Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Churu, Dungarpur & Pali have been started from the academic year 2018-19; Barmer from the Academic Year 2019-20 and Sikar from the Academic Year 2020-21. One Medical College of ESIC at Alwar has also been started. 9 Private medical colleges are also situated in the State.

          In the State, one Dental College of Rajasthan University of Health Sciences and 15 Private Dental Colleges are situated.

          The Rajasthan University of Health Sciences was established in the year 2006.
